Overview

Join our unique construction operation as an Excavator Operator and become a vital part of our agricultural drainage tile installation business! We're looking for a multi-talented individual who will not only run equipment but is handy with maintenance and repairs, problem solving, loading and hauling equipment, and is generally mechanically inclined. Our fall season is very busy and there will be lots of overtime available.

Responsibilities

- Operate excavators safely and efficiently to perform drainage tile tie-ins, and support the trenching crew

- Assist with the setup and breakdown the trenching operation in each field

- Work efficiently with team members to complete project plans accurately and meet deadlines

- Conduct routine inspections of excavator equipment, performing basic maintenance and reporting any issues promptly

- Operate other equipment when needed (skid steer, tractor, trencher etc.)





- Maintain a safe work environment

- Log daily activities and equipment used

Requirements

- Proven experience operating excavators

- Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor equipment issues and perform basic maintenance

- Ability to operate related heavy equipment

- Valid class 5 driver's license. Q endorsement and Class 1 license are great assets

- Knowledge of GPS survey equipment, and 3D design are excellent assets

- Strong understanding of construction safety regarding safe trench shoring and sloping

- Communicate effectively and give direction to supporting labourers

- Load and chain down equipment

- Operate trucks and haul equipment

Pay: $25.08-$42.42 per hour
