Position Overview

Mount Pearl Soccer Association (MPSA) is seeking a visionary, collaborative, and community-focused Executive Director to lead the organization's next chapter of growth. As one of Newfoundland & Labrador's largest soccer organizations, MPSA is committed to providing exceptional soccer experiences for players of all ages and abilities while fostering a culture of excellence, inclusion, respect, and lifelong participation in sport.

Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director serves as the Association's senior operational leader, responsible for implementing the Board's strategic direction while overseeing the day-to-day operations of the organization.

Duties

Staff & Volunteer Leadership

- Lead, Mentor, and develop staff
- Support volunteer coaches and leaders
- Foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture
- Build a high performing organization

Administration & Risk Management

- Oversee office operations and administration
- Manage contracts, insurance, and organizational assets
- Develop and implement policies and procedures
- Ensure organizational accountability
- Ensure Safe Sport standards are upheld

Strategic Leadership

- Lead organizational strategy and planning
- Support effective Board governance
- Ensure compliance with bylaws, policies, and sport regulations
- Develop and implement strategic revenue generating initiatives




- Drive organizational growth and innovation
- Advance Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (EDIA) in all areas of the organization
- Drive membership growth

Financial Management

- Direct the preparation of budgets and financial reporting
- Manage finances, budgets, payroll, and funding initiatives
- Manage funding, sponsorships, and grants
- Ensure effective operational systems and controls
- Monitor organizational performance and outcomes

Community & Stakeholder Relations

- Strengthen relationships with members and families
- Collaborate with the City of Mount Pearl and Newfoundland and Labrador Soccer Association (NLSA)
- Build partnerships with sponsors and community organizations
- Promote MPSA throughout the region

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Business, Recreation, Sport Management, or a related field
- 5+ years of leadership experience
- Experience leading teams and managing organizational operations
- Solid budgeting and financial management skills
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and modern business tools
- Commitment to Safe Sport and EDIA principles
- Valid Driver's License
- Criminal Record with Vulnerable Sector Check
