Position Summary Reporting to the Maintenance Manager the Facilities Maintenance will be responsible for maintaining the safety functionality reliability and appearance of facility infrastructure equipment and grounds This hands on role performs preventative maintenance inspections troubleshooting and repairs across a variety of disciplines including basic electrical plumbing carpentry painting mechanical and general building maintenance activities This is a key role in ensuring a safe compliant efficient and well maintained facility while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence PrimaryEssential Responsibilities Perform routine inspections of facility infrastructure building systems and equipment to identify maintenance requirementsComplete preventative maintenance activities to ensure the reliability and longevity of facility assetsTroubleshoot and perform repairs on building systems including lighting doors plumbing fixtures HVAC components and general facility equipmentPerform basic electrical plumbing carpentry painting and mechanical repairs as requiredRespond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repair situationsMaintain facility appearance and functionality through general upkeep and repair activitiesAssist in the implementation of waste reduction recycling energy conservation and water conservation programsSupport environmental compliance requirements and company environmental objectivesMaintain accurate maintenance records inspection reports work orders and contractor documentationCoordinate and communicate with third party contractors vendors and service providers to ensure work is completed safely and effectivelySchedule contractor activities and provide facility access as requiredSafely operate forklifts and other powered industrial equipment to support facility maintenance activitiesPerform all work in accordance with company health safety and environmental policiesIdentify and report unsafe conditions and recommend corrective actionsHelp manage Hazardous and Non Hazardous wasteRequired Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalentPost secondary education in Facilities Maintenance Building Operations Industrial Maintenance Mechanical Technology or a related field is considered an assetMinimum 35 years of experience in facilities maintenance building maintenance manufacturing warehouse or distribution environmentsProven experience performing preventative maintenance and general facility repairsExperience with basic electrical plumbing carpentry painting and mechanical maintenance activitiesDemonstrated experience operating forklifts in an industrial environmentAbility to maintain accurate records work orders and maintenance documentationWell developed problem solving skillsSelf motivated and dependable who can manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environmentPreferred Qualifications Strong verbal and written communication skills in EnglishStrong organizational and time management skillsHands on with strong mechanical aptitudeProfessional and customer service oriented when interacting with employees contractors and other third partiesPhysical Demands Working Conditions Ability to frequently stand walk bend kneel and climb laddersAbility to lift up to 50 lbs 23 kgAbility to safely operate powered industrial equipment and perform physically demanding maintenance tasks Forklift Crane and other equipment Certification will be provided in houseAbility to work indoors and outdoors in varying environmental conditionsPay Range is typically between 2314 to 3151 per hour Please note the wage information shown above is a general guideline only Salaries are based upon candidate skills experience and qualifications as well as market and business considerations Accessibility Statement G&W; Canada Corporation is proud to be an equal prospect employer We are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace that reflects the communities we serve We welcome and encourage applications from individuals of all backgrounds experiences and perspectives In accordance with the Ontario Human Rights Code and the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act accommodation will be provided at any point throughout the hiring process upon request Please let us know if you require any accommodation in respect of any materials or processes used to ensure your equal participation
