Position: Fixed Base Operations Agent

Position Location: Springbrook, Alberta (Red Deer Regional Airport) Company Description Tucana Aviation Services Ltd. is a full-service aviation support provider offering 24/7 customer service to aircraft operators and crews. The company delivers comprehensive below-wing and above-wing services, including refueling (Jet A and 100LL), de-icing, loading and unloading of passengers, baggage, and cargo, as well as ground power and air support. Role Description The Fixed Base Operations (FBO) Agent (Aircraft Refueler/Ground Handler) is a full-time, on-site role based in Springbrook, AB, at the Red Deer Regional Airport responsible for supporting daily aircraft ground operations and operational support for rotary and fixed wing operations. This role includes safely refueling aircraft, assisting with de-icing procedures, and handling the loading and unloading of passengers, baggage, and cargo, but may also support a wide array of support activities to ensure operational success with equipment loading and rigging. The FBO Agent operates ground support equipment, such as ground power units and air systems, and helps maintain clean, organized ramp and hangar areas.

The role also supports customer-facing services by coordinating with flight crews, assisting with above-wing amenities, and ensuring timely, professional service delivery. The position requires adherence to safety protocols, accurate documentation of services, and collaboration with team members to maintain smooth operations across all shifts.

Key Responsibilities: Ground Handling Operations

Marshal aircraft in and out of designated parking positions using standard signals.

Tow and reposition aircraft safely using approved ground handling equipment.

Secure aircraft with chocks, cones, and wing-walkers as required.





Operate and maintain ground support equipment (e.g., tugs, GPUs.).

Assist with baggage and cargo handling for arriving and departing aircraft.

Refueling

Conduct over-wing and single-point refueling for Jet A and Avgas aircraft.

Perform daily fuel quality control checks and equipment inspections.

Complete accurate fuel tickets and ensure compliance with documentation protocols.

Monitor fuel inventories and communicate refueling requirements as needed.

De-Icing

Carry out aircraft de-icing operations using Type I/IV fluids in accordance with procedures.

Coordinate de-icing safely with flight crews and operations personnel.

Maintain de-icing equipment and record fluid usage and equipment checks as required.

Customer

Service

Provide professional, courteous support to flight crews, passengers, and guests.

Coordinate concierge services including ground transport, catering, and lodging.

Respond to service requests efficiently via radio, phone, or in-person communication.

Ensure client areas such as lounges and terminals are clean and service-ready.

Administrative

Support

Record and process fuel sales, aircraft service tickets, and other ground support activities.

Maintain operational records, inspection logs, and service reports.

Support compliance with internal procedures and applicable airport regulations.

Participate in ongoing training, safety meetings, and procedural briefings. Facility & Safety Maintenance

Inspect and maintain the airside operating area for hazards, debris (FOD), and equipment condition.





Ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with safety protocols and operational standards.

Support emergency response efforts and equipment readiness as needed.

Assist with general cleanliness and organization of hangars and common workspaces.

Additional

Responsibilities

Assist in seasonal support including snow removal and winter safety precautions

Provide support for crew and passengers as required based on the operation

Support with administrative functions to FBO Operations

High school diploma or equivalent.

Requirements

Must be organized and keen to detail.

Must be able to work unsupervised and manage priorities for a variety of tasks with frequent interruptions.

Must be able to work under pressure to handle time sensitive tasks.

Ability to communicate clearly and efficiently. Certificates & Licensing Requirements:

Valid Class 5 Driver's License with a satisfactory Driver’s Abstract.

Ability to obtain Airside Vehicle Operator's Permit & Airport Security Clearance.
