Forward Deployed Engineer — Build agentic AI workflows for scientific and engineering customers. Contract, hybrid.
An innovative company is building AI systems that reason with the rigour of the scientific method — combining deep learning with formal logic and physics-based modelling. Mission: a 30×30 improvement in the speed, accessibility, and cost of semiconductor and photonic hardware development by 2030.
As Forward Deployed Engineer, you’ll work directly with engineers and researchers at customer organisations, acting as the technical bridge between customer requirements and product capabilities.
What You’ll Do
- Engage deeply with customer teams to understand design workflows
- Build high-impact prototypes: AI-assisted modelling, circuit optimisation, simulation automation
- Design and deploy agentic AI workflows orchestrating LLMs, physics-based models, and customer data
- Convert field learnings into structured feedback shaping product roadmap
- Serve as trusted technical partner across pilots, evaluations, and production deployments
What We’re Looking For
- MSc or PhD in electrical engineering, photonics, applied physics, applied math, or equivalent
- 4+ years in software engineering, applied AI, forward deployed, or solutions engineering
- Robust Python — scientific computing, workflow orchestration, API integration
- Hands‑on with LLMs, APIs, agentic systems, orchestration frameworks
- Excellent communicator across engineers, managers, and enterprise stakeholders
Bonus: LangChain, LlamaIndex, Pydantic, Ray
