Front Counter Barista (Graveyard Shift)

Bloom Bakery & Café is looking for a reliable, energetic, and customer-focused Front Counter Barista to join our overnight team. As the face of our café during the graveyard shift, you will provide exceptional customer service while helping maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked café for the next day.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working independently, takes pride in keeping a workspace spotless, and thrives in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

- Welcome customers with a friendly and professional attitude.
- Take customer orders and process payments accurately using our POS system.
- Prepare coffee, espresso-based beverages, teas, and other menu items according to Bloom standards.
- Package pastries and food items for customers.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary front counter, bar, and dining area.
- Wash dishes, pitchers, utensils, and café equipment throughout the shift.
- Clean and maintain the espresso machine following company procedures.
- Restock cups, lids, coffee beans, milk, syrups, condiments, and other café supplies.
- Ensure pastry displays and refrigerators remain clean and well organized.
- Complete nightly cleaning and closing checklists.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
- Work independently while maintaining a positive and professional attitude.





Qualifications
- Previous café, restaurant, or customer service experience is an asset but not required—we provide training.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work overnight shifts independently.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to cleanliness, organization, and detail.
- Basic cash handling and computer/POS .
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Food Safe certification is an asset (or willingness to obtain one).

Schedule
- Graveyard Shift: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Full-time and part-time positions available.
- Weekend and holiday availability is an asset.
