About this role

:

This is a full-time role for someone who wants to build a career at the intersection of funding, strategy, and social impact. You'll start by working hands-on across our core services — prospecting, grant development, and systems — and grow into ownership of the areas where you show strength. Over time, that means managing your own client relationships, owning the systems and templates that let us scale, and helping shape funding strategy for the organizations we serve.

This is a great opportunity for a motivated individual to grow in their skill development and advance their career.

Why this role is different:

Most entry-level roles keep you on the sidelines.

This one doesn't. You'll work directly on funding applications, contribute to client strategy, and take on responsibility early — with a clear path to owning client relationships and the systems that power our work. If you want to build genuine skills, understand how organizations grow and develop into leadership, this role will give you that.

Duties & Responsibilities

Prospecting for funding opportunities

You'll become an expert in how funding works.

- Research and identify grants, foundations, corporate giving programs, and government funding opportunities
- Use prospect research tools like Foundation Search and iWave
- Analyze eligibility and summarize opportunities
- Build and maintain a structured pipeline of funding opportunities
- Research funding availability across sectors like health, social services, arts, innovation, and education
- Working alongside experienced fundraisers gaining knowledge, expertise and mentorship

Developing winning proposals You'll help turn ideas into funded projects.

- Draft grant proposals, including project descriptions, impact statements, and organizational summaries
- Support budget development and supporting documentation e.g. impact reports
- Prepare workplans and case-for-support materials
- Coordinate information gathering from clients

Where this role can grow As you develop and gain more experience you will take more ownership of:

- Client relationships — managing your own client files and being the person clients rely on

- Funding strategy for clients — shaping which opportunities we pursue and how we position them

- Systems, templates, and automation — enhancing existing templates and workflows

How we support you You won't be left to figure things out alone. You'll receive direct mentorship from senior consultants, regular check-ins focused on your development, training in grant writing, fundraising strategy, and research tools, and exposure to organizations doing meaningful work across the region.

Who this is for

We're looking for someone who is curious, driven, organized, and genuinely wants to make an impact.

Required:

- A completed degree in business, political science, communications, public policy, English, humanities or a related field
- Strong research and writing skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information clearly
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Proficient in G-Suite tools and excel
- Ability to efficiently manage competing deadlines and be adaptable
- Genuine interest in nonprofits, policy, or social impact
- Able to work in person in Saint John

Assets that stand out:

- Experience in grant writing, research, policy, advocacy, or nonprofit work
- Strong initiative and a problem-solving mindset
- Familiarity with CRM systems or databases
- Bilingualism (English & French)
