Fort McMurray Handyman is building a reliable network of local independent contractors for residential and light-commercial repair and renovation projects throughout Fort McMurray.

This is flexible, project-based subcontracting—not a guaranteed-hour employee position. When a suitable opportunity becomes available, we send the job details by text. You may accept or decline each opportunity. If interested, you contact the customer promptly, assess the work, and submit your own itemized quote before anything is approved or scheduled.

Typical work may include

- Drywall installation and repairs

- Interior and exterior painting
- Flooring, doors, trim and baseboards
- Deck, fence and general carpentry repairs
- Siding, fascia and eavestrough repairs
- Kitchen, bathroom and general home repairs
- Small renovation and property-maintenance projects

Electrical, plumbing, gas and other regulated work must only be performed by contractors holding the licences or certifications required in Alberta.

What we are looking for

- Proven handyman, construction or renovation experience
- Your own reliable vehicle, tools and smartphone
- Strong communication and dependable follow-through
- Ability to provide clear, itemized quotes separating labour and materials
- Ability to contact assigned customers promptly and provide progress updates
- Photos of previous work and professional references
- Appropriate liability insurance and WCB coverage, where applicable




- Ability to invoice as an independent contractor

Compensation Contractors set and submit their own price for each project. The CA$35–$65 hourly range shown on this posting is only an approximate equivalent for search purposes; actual compensation is agreed per project based on your quote, scope, materials and experience. There are no guaranteed hours or minimum number of projects.
