Shift Work: Morning, Evening, Shift, Weekend, Flexible hours, On-call, Overtime available

Salary/Wage: $21.00 to $22.00 per hour

Job Summary & Main Duties

Kelly's Special Care Home is seeking two dedicated and compassionate Health Care Assistants to join our team in Quarryville, NB. The successful candidates will provide high-quality personal care, comfort, and routine health assistance to residents in an on-site care facility setting.

Key Responsibilities

Call Assistance: Answer call signals and respond to resident requests promptly.

Personal Care & Hygiene: Bathe, dress, groom, and assist residents with daily personal hygiene routines as required.

Mobility & Positioning: Lift, turn, transfer, and position residents safely, and assist them with mobility and basic exercise routines.

Nutritional Care: Prepare meals as required, assist residents with menu selections, and assist with resident feeding.

Vital Signs & Monitoring: Take and record residents’ blood pressure, temperature, and pulse; monitor and record fluid intake and output; observe changes in resident status and document care on charts.

Assistance with Health Assessments: Prepare residents for routine physical examinations, medical appointments, or visits from health care professionals.

Emergency Response: Administer basic first aid in emergency situations and alert supervisory nursing or medical staff immediately in case of a medical emergency or complex case.

Specimen Collection: Collect routine specimens (such as urine, feces, or sputum) under supervision.

Recreational & Physical Support: Provide physical and emotional support, and assist with,



organize, or accompany residents on recreational and leisure activities.

Facility & Equipment Maintenance: Make beds, maintain clean and organized resident rooms, and monitor/maintain inventory of care supplies.

Qualifications & Requirements

Language: English (spoken and written)

Education: College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 to 2 years in Nursing Assistant / Aide or Patient Care Assistant / Aide.

Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in patient care or health care assisting.

Certifications & Licences:

Valid First Aid Certificate

Valid CPR Certificate
