Cooney's Trucking, a family-owned Calgary-based bulk-haul and aggregate carrier, is hiring a Heavy Duty Mechanic to maintain and repair our trucking fleet and fleet vehicles. The ideal candidate has proven experience as a heavy duty mechanic working on dump trucks, tractor-trailers, or similar commercial equipment, and can handle everything from routine maintenance to diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues. You'll keep our trucks road-ready and safe, working out of our Calgary yard, and in winter months you'll also service our plow trucks and snow equipment fleet.

Starting wage $35-$55/hour, based on experience. If you take pride in keeping heavy equipment running right, we want to hear from you.

- Perform routine inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance on heavy-duty vehicles and industrial machinery.
- Utilize specialized tools and equipment to conduct repairs on engines, hydraulic systems, electrical components, and mechanical assemblies.
- Maintain detailed maintenance records
- Management Systems (CMMS) to track work orders and equipment history.
- Conduct welding, boiler inspections,



HVAC servicing, and electrical repairs with precision and adherence to safety standards.
- Collaborate with team members to analyze equipment performance data and implement corrective actions promptly.

Requirements

- Proven experience as a Heavy Duty Mechanic or in a similar industrial maintenance role.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read schematics and technical diagrams effectively.
- Proficiency in English for clear communication within a diverse team environment.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced manufacturing settings while maintaining high safety standards.
