We are seeking a energetic and detail-oriented Heavy Duty Parts Technician to join our team here at GEMM Diesel in Kelowna. This a 4-10 hour shifts position!
In this vital role, you will be responsible for accurately diagnosing, sourcing, and helping manage parts for heavy-duty trucks. Your expertise will ensure that our fleet and machinery operate smoothly, minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity. Responsibilities
- Identify and diagnose parts requirements for Volvo, Mack & Hino trucks using technical manuals and diagnostic tools.
- Manage inventory levels through precise data entry, procurement, and sourcing of parts via ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems.
- Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to negotiate pricing, lead times, and availability to ensure timely procurement of parts.
- Maintain accurate records of parts orders, inventory transactions, and supply chain documentation
- Assist with purchasing decisions
- Provide excellent customer service by advising technicians and clients on suitable parts options and availability.
- Operate forklifts or other material handling equipment safely when retrieving or delivering parts within the warehouse or yard.
Qualifications
- Proven dealership experience or background working with heavy-duty vehicles or machinery.
- Strong mechanical
- Experience with data entry, inventory management, procurement processes, and supply chain logistics.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with team members and vendors.
- Ability to negotiate prices and lead times confidently to optimize procurement outcomes.
- Able to safely operate a forklift; familiarity with safety procedures in warehouse environments is preferred.
