Overview

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator specializing in excavator operation to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating a variety of heavy machinery, including excavators and other equipment essential for large-scale construction projects. This role requires a robust understanding of construction site safety, mechanical systems, and the ability to work efficiently in a dynamic environment.

The successful candidate will contribute to the successful completion of infrastructure projects such as paving, horizontal drilling, and site development.

Responsibilities

- Operate excavators and other heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, and Caterpillar machinery to perform excavation, grading, paving, and site preparation tasks.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance checks on equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance.
- Assist with site development activities including horizontal drilling, paving operations, and grading tasks.
- Follow project plans and specifications to execute tasks accurately and efficiently.




- Collaborate with team members to coordinate movements of machinery and materials across construction sites.
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment for all personnel on-site.
- Maintain detailed records of equipment usage and maintenance activities.

Skills

- Minimum 3 years proven experience operating excavators from 3 tonne to 20 tonne with proficiency in various models.
- Mechanical knowledge related to heavy equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Ability to perform precise excavation and grading tasks aligned with project specifications.
- Knowledge of horizontal drilling techniques and paving processes is a plus.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) preferred for transporting equipment or materials between sites.
- Strong understanding of construction safety standards and procedures.
- Civil construction experience is an asset.

Pay: $34.00-$38.50 per hour
