Job Summary The Hellenic Academy of York is seeking a passionate, experienced and dedicated Greek High School Teacher to join our educational team and teach the High School Greek Credit Program. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Greek language, literature, and culture, and be committed to fostering a dynamic and engaging learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement a comprehensive curriculum for Grade 10 Greek language and literature.

● Prepare lesson plans that align with educational standards and promote student engagement.

● Assess student performance through various methods, including tests, projects, and class participation.

● Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages critical thinking and collaboration.

● Incorporate technology and multimedia resources into lessons to enhance learning.

● Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff regarding student progress and any concerns.

● Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and community events.

● Promote the Greek culture through various school activities and projects.

Qualifications/Experience Required

● Bachelor’s degree in Education, Greek Studies, or a related field.

● Teaching certification (if applicable).





● Robust proficiency in the Greek language (both written and spoken).

● Previous teaching experience, preferably at the high school level.

● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

● Ability to inspire and motivate students.
