Job Title: GPA Coach - Gentle Persuasive Approaches (GPA) Training
Job Type: Part-Time / Full-Time
Location: On-Campus
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and certified GPA Coach to deliver specialized Gentle Persuasive Approaches (GPA) training for healthcare professionals, caregivers, and students. This role requires a strong background in dementia care, person-centered approaches, and the ability to teach and coach others in the GPA framework to improve the quality of care for individuals living with dementia.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate GPA training for healthcare students, both in-person and through online platforms.
- Deliver the GPA curriculum, including dementia-related care strategies, communication techniques, and behavioral interventions.
- Provide practical learning activities, case studies, and real-world examples to help students apply GPA principles.
- Evaluate student progress through quizzes, assignments, practical assessments, and exams.
- Guide and mentor students during the application of GPA strategies in real-world dementia care scenarios.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and feedback.
- Contribute to program development and updates by providing insights and recommendations based on industry trends and best practices.
- Stay current with evidence-based dementia care practices and continuously improve course materials and delivery methods.
- Provide academic support and one-on-one guidance for students, ensuring all students are able to grasp key concepts and practices.
- Promote and represent the GPA program in the community, including at events, seminars, and workshops.
Qualifications
- Certified GPA Coach with completion of the GPA Coach Training Program (Gentle Persuasive Approaches).
- Degree or diploma in Dementia Studies, Gerontology, Nursing, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of practical experience in dementia care, therapeutic interventions, or related environments.
- Teaching or training experience in adult education or healthcare settings preferred.
- Solid communication and digital teaching skills, with the ability to engage students in both remote and in-person environments.
- Ability to support students with diverse learning needs and provide tailored support as necessary.
- Passionate about person-centered dementia care and committed to enhancing the quality of life for individuals with dementia.
