Windigo Education is seeking a passionate and qualified educator to teach Junior/Senior Kindergarten at Michikan Lake School in Bearskin Lake First Nation for the 2026/2027 school year.
About Us
Windigo Education Board serves over 400 students across four First Nations communities. Our schools provide quality education rooted in land-based teachings, activities, and values that support student growth through collaboration between school, family, and community.
About Bearskin Lake First Nation
Bearskin Lake is a vibrant Oji-Cree community located in northwestern Ontario. Our school provides a culturally rich learning environment that celebrates Indigenous traditions and values.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Education degree
- Member in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) or eligible for membership
- Experience working with Indigenous students preferred
- Strong commitment to early childhood education and culturally responsive teaching
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging,
play-based learning experiences aligned with Ontario's Kindergarten Program
- Create a nurturing and inclusive classroom setting
- Collaborate with teaching partners, families, and community members
- Assess and document student learning and development
- Participate in school and community events
