Duties
- Perform MIG (Metal Inert Gas) and TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welding on diverse materials, including steel, aluminum, and ductwork components.
- Read and interpret detailed blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to guide fabrication and assembly processes.
- Use hand tools, power tools, calipers, and machining equipment to cut, shape, and assemble metal parts accurately.
- Operate plasma cutters, press brake machines, forklifts, cranes, and other machinery safely and efficiently.
- Conduct rigging tasks for lifting and positioning heavy components with mechanical knowledge of cranes and hoisting equipment.
- Apply basic math skills for measurements, tolerances, and quality control checks during fabrication.
- Follow safety protocols diligently while working with welding equipment, scaffolding, or in construction environments.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Journeyman/Woman Welder with a solid portfolio of MIG and TIG welding projects.
- Completion of an accredited apprenticeship or certification program in welding or related trades.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings with attention to detail.
- Mechanical knowledge including familiarity with machining tools, hand tools, power tools, calipers, plasma cutting equipment, and press brake machines.
- Ability to perform rigging tasks safely using cranes or other lifting devices; construction or manufacturing experience is highly valued.
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations essential for precision work.
- Knowledge of schematics related to ductwork or assembly processes; experience with welding in manufacturing or construction settings is preferred.
- Valid certification in forklift operation; experience with schematics interpretation; familiarity with welding safety standards is a plus.
