The Junior CAD Detailer is responsible for supporting the preparation of project shop drawings and product design details for Diamond Architectural Openings (DAO) and Diamond Manufacturing (DM).

The successful candidate will have a robust working knowledge of AutoCAD and SolidWorks, along with an understanding of production processes, metal fabrication practices, and construction detailing.

This position will also assist with the organization, standardization, and maintenance of the CAD department’s drawing details, templates, and product libraries.

The Junior CAD Detailer reports to the Project Director and will participate in weekly or biweekly meetings with management to review current projects, drawing progress, workload, communication requirements, and any project risks or challenges.

Responsibilities

- Work closely with the project team and provide technical support to Project Managers regarding product design, constructability, and drawing requirements.
- Conduct site inspections and field measurements when required.
- Prepare and coordinate detailed shop drawings based on project drawings, specifications, design intent, and field conditions.
- Produce drawings for consultant review and approval.
- Review drawings to ensure they meet fabrication, production, procurement, assembly, and installation requirements.
- Coordinate with project teams, consultants, engineers, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
- Ensure DAO and DM’s scope of work complies with project specifications, approved drawings, and applicable industry standards.
- Prepare, submit, track,



and manage Requests for Information (RFIs) and Requests for Clarification (RFCs), as required.
- Revise drawings and layouts to reflect project changes, site conditions, consultant comments, and design updates.
- Maintain accurate drawing records, revisions, and project documentation.
- Assist with the standardization, organization, and cataloguing of CAD details, templates, and product libraries.
- Work collaboratively with team members to support project schedules, budgets, quality standards, and overall project delivery.
- Communicate drawing concerns, design conflicts, risks, and potential delays in a timely manner.
- Ensure assigned drawings and tasks are completed accurately and in accordance with project schedules.
- Provide feedback and recommendations to improve drafting processes, operational efficiency, and drawing quality.

Qualifications

- Proficiency in CAD software
- Experience with drafting and creating schematics for construction or engineering projects is highly desirable
- Familiarity with construction processes and terminology enhances your ability to produce relevant details
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Effective communication skills to collaborate within multidisciplinary teams
- Prior experience or coursework related to civil engineering, architecture, or drafting is preferred

Pay: $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
