Position Overview

We are currently seeking a Junior Associate Lawyer with at least one year of post-call experience to join Team Ross. In this role, you will take ownership of client files and actively handle advocacy and transactional work. You will gain deep, hands-on experience across Family Law, Real Estate, and Wills and Estates within a supportive, tight-knit, small-community setting.

Responsibilities

1. Client Interaction: Communicate independently with clients, opposing counsel, and key stakeholders to advance cases and manage expectations.
2. File Management: Take ownership of client files, organizing complex documentation, meeting strict deadlines, and maintaining meticulous records.
3. Legal Research and Drafting: Conduct advanced legal research and draft complex legal documents, including pleadings, affidavits, marriage/separation agreements, factums, and transactional documents.
4. Court & Mediation Attendance:



Represent clients at court proceedings, conferences, motions, and mediations under the mentorship of senior lawyers.
5. Collaboration: Partner with our senior lawyers and dedicated support staff to execute strategic plans and achieve optimal outcomes for our clients.

Qualifications
1. Licensing: Member in valuable standing with the Law Society of Ontario (LSO).
2. Experience: Minimum of 1 year of post-call experience practicing law.
3. Education: Completion of a law degree from a recognized Ontario University.
4. Skills: Strong research, analytical and problem-solving skills with absolute attention to detail.
5. Communication: Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
6. Mindset: A cooperative, collaborative mindset with a positive attitude and strong personal energy.
7. Community Focus: A genuine interest in establishing a long-term Family Law, Real Estate, and Estate practice within a smaller community.
