Under the direction of the Offsite Management team, the Event Supervisor assists in the managing, preparation and set up of the event spaces over Toronto and the GTA and assist with event execution.
Event
Supervisors will work independently or support the managers and help to oversee the floor during an event, in addition to helping deliver food & beverage to guests, maintaining the cleanliness of the space and focusing on ensuring clients satisfaction. They monitor food and quality presentation and possess a strong knowledge of event menu items to answer questions and make recommendations when required.
The Event
Supervisor position is a leadership in training position,
where the incumbent would learn how to be an event manager but still be able to work serving/bartender shifts when not needed for managing shifts.
The day to day
Communicates the vision to all team members and leads by example. Reinforces the O&B; values daily and inspires the team with his/her exciting vision for the future
Support the management team in overall event management
Leading a team of servers and bartenders during an event, responding to all concerns and needs as required
Builds and maintains relationships with guests, team members and senior management alike
Shows leadership in creating a culture that revolves around the experience and enjoyment
Uses conflict/resolution and problem-solving skills
Assist in the preparation, setup and maintenance of event spaces
Possess a strong knowledge of event menu items
Follows bar, beverage and wine control procedures exactly
Respond promptly to guest requests in a timely, professional and efficient manner
Deliver food & beverage to the appropriate tables as directed by the Management team
Clear plates, cutlery and glasses from the tables and return them to the dish area
Monitor food quality and presentation standards
Regularly monitors and achieves the O&B; points of technical service and points of details
Adhere to all O&B; health and safety standards
Additional duties as assigned or required
Qualifications
Valid Smart Serve certification required
Proven experience in event service or hospitality Minimum 1 year supervisor experience in events or hospitality
Organizational skills and the ability to multi-task A passion for guest service and creating memorable moments
Strong leadership and management skills
Ability to remain composed under pressure and adapt to fast-paced environments
Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
This is a full time position
Ability to life 30lbs
Legally eligible to work in Canada
