Overview

We are seeking energetic and experienced Labourers with a strong background in underground pipe installation and maintenance. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on vital infrastructure projects, ensuring the protected and efficient installation of underground piping systems. Ideal candidates will bring a proactive attitude, mechanical aptitude, and hands-on experience with various heavy equipment and tools.

Responsibilities

- Assist with the installation, repair, and maintenance of underground piping systems, ensuring compliance with safety standards and project specifications
- Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, backhoes, bucket trucks, and rigging gear to excavate trenches and position pipes accurately
- Use hand tools and power tools to prepare pipe joints, fittings, and related components for installation or repair
- Conduct site inspections to ensure proper trench shoring, safety barriers, and low voltage electrical connections are maintained
- Support welding tasks for pipe joining or repairs when necessary, following safety protocols




- Collaborate with team members to coordinate the movement of materials using bucket operation and other heavy machinery
- Follow all safety procedures related to underground work, electrical systems, and heavy equipment operation

Skills

- Mechanical knowledge related to plumbing, piping systems, and general construction equipment
- Experience operating excavators, backhoes, bucket trucks, and other heavy machinery such as rigging gear and low voltage electrical systems
- Proficiency with hand tools (hammers, wrenches) and power tools (drills, saws) for pipe fitting and assembly
- Ability to perform welding tasks accurately when required for pipe joining or repairs
- Knowledge of low voltage electrical systems relevant to underground utilities
- Skilled in rigging techniques for lifting pipes or equipment safely into position
- Experience operating bucket operation systems for precise placement of pipes or materials
