Role Description The Licensed Optician is a full-time, in office role based at Impressive Eyewear in South Surrey, BC. Day-to-day responsibilities include assisting clients in selecting frames and lenses, performing precise measurements and fittings, and advising on lens options based on prescriptions and lifestyle needs.

The role involves interpreting optometrists’ prescriptions, ensuring accurate lens fabrication orders, and performing quality checks on completed eyewear. The optician will educate clients on eyewear care, adjustments, and fit, handle repairs and adjustments, and support the delivery of a high level of customer service throughout the client experience. Additional tasks include maintaining product knowledge of luxury and handcrafted brands,



supporting retail operations, and collaborating closely with the optical team.

General cleaning is required including dusting, vacuuming

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong optics and optometry-related knowledge to interpret prescriptions and advise on appropriate lens and frame solutions.
- Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to customer satisfaction and high-quality customer service in a boutique retail environment.
- Candidates should be familiar with eye exams and able to coordinate effectively with optometrists and other eye care professionals.
- Active Optician license in British Columbia (or eligibility for licensing) and experience in a retail optical or eyewear boutique setting.
- This role requires fluent written and spoken English skills, attention to detail, and ability to perform precise measurements and adjustments.
- Comfort working in a high-end retail environment, with strong sales and product knowledge skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, handle delicate eyewear, and use optical equipment and tools safely.
- Availability for full-time, on-site work, including weekends as required by boutique hours.
