This posting is to fill (1) permanent position with Continuing Care at Alexander McDonald Lodge in Dawson City working 12-hour shift rotations including day and night shifts. It will also be used to establish a 12‑month eligibility list, which may be used to fill future term and permanent vacancies.

The position is based in Dawson City, a vibrant and diverse northern community in the Yukon.

Alexander McDonald Lodge (AML) in Dawson City, YT is a 15-bed long-term care home that provides person-centered care to individuals who need varying levels of intermediate care support with daily living activities.

Essential Qualifications Please submit your resume clearly demonstrating how you meet the qualifications below. - Eligible for registration as a licensed practical nurse in Canada
- Considerable experience providing nursing care in a clinical setting
- Recent applied knowledge of nursing theory, practices and techniques Recent applied knowledge and experience in medication administration in a clinical setting

- Ability to provide qualified care for residents by promoting their physical, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing

- Excellent critical thinking, relationship building, and conflict management skills and Ability to operate across multiple levels of care and within a interdisciplinary environment.

- CPR Level C with AED
- Yukon LPN registration with Medication Administration upon hire

Job requirements:

- Shift work
- Heavy lifting (50lbs and over), standing, bending, reaching
- Exposure to infectious agents requiring adherence to infection prevention and control practices
- Exposure to latex products
- Exposure to second hand smoke
- Potential exposure to animals (pet therapy program).
