The Elmwood Group is looking for a logistics supervisor who brings dedication and skill to a well-established and respected family-owned organization. The right candidate has prior experience with responsibilities for overseeing the shipment and delivery of goods and warehouse personnel. The position also requires knowledge of inventory tracking & maintenance, preferably in the retail industry (or equivalent) with solid computer skills with tracking software & systems.

Responsibilities:

- Manage and coordinate the organization, staffing, and operational activities for a multi-store retailer.
- Direct and review work plan & flow for assigned staff
- Implement appropriate safety guidelines and investigate injuries or unsafe conditions
- Provide assistance in warehouse space utilization by designing facility layouts to achieve maximum storage efficiency & organization.
- Maintain accurate records and files of inventory usage
- Meet with staff to identify and resolve problems
- Select, train, motivate, and evaluate assigned personnel




- Prepare and present staff reports and other correspondence as appropriate and necessary
- Ensure the proper planning of warehousing and showroom activities in relation to logistics with key departments within the organization.
- Discover new trends and innovations in the fields of warehousing and storage programs.

Skills/Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or related (preferred)
- Exceptional decision making skills
- Prior supervisory role with 1-5 employees is preferred
- Excellent communication skill ( both written and verbal) to effectively negotiate with carriers, suppliers, custom brokers, and customers
- Ability to properly identify measures or indicators of system performance that are relative to the goals of the organization.
- Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solution.
- Must possess valid driver's license; Class 5
- Must possess a forklift operation certificate
