Comet Welding is currently looking to enhance our team with the following position:

Material Handler / Forklift Operator The Material Handler/Forklift Operator will provide shop support with various operational tasks, including cutting material, putting material away, moving and organizing material and parts, deliveries and pickups, and other operational functions. The role will work closely with other operational teams throughout the business. This role requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities

- Provide physical support for Material operations
- Assist with material cutting and prepping for both internal and external orders.
- Put away and organize materials arriving both from vendors and the shop floor




- Prep material and projects to be sent to customers
- Forklift operations to move material and projects throughout the organization.
- Maintain organization of yard racks and items in the yard.
- Complete pick up and deliveries of products and materials.
- Communicate with all departments of logistical operations.

Qualifications:
- Work experience in an material handling with forklift skills, preferably in a manufacturing or distribution workplace.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and coordination skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Knowledge of inventory management principles.
- Valid class 5 drivers licence with experience driving a flat deck truck with a trailer.

Job Type: Full-time Pay: $21.00-$26.00 per hour
