The STAR Family Health Team (FHT) is seeking a Part-Time Medical Office Assistant to support our multidisciplinary team in providing high-quality, patient-centered care.

With a dynamic forward-thinking group of family physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, mental health professionals, dietitians, pharmacists, and administrative staff, the STAR FHT is committed to providing comprehensive, team-oriented primary health care through two clinics in Stratford, and one clinic in Tavistock and Region (STAR).

As a valuable member of the team, the Medical Office Assistant provides support to the routine operations of the allied health team. This includes, but is not limited to:

- Coordinating patient care such as scheduling/updating appointments
- Handling patient inquiries and referrals
- Consulting and working in collaboration with our clinicians and other community partners/resources
- Data entry into the electronic medical records (EMR) system
- Supporting clinicians with administrative tasks as it relates to patient care

What You Bring
- Medical Office Administration certificate/diploma (a must)
- Minimum 3 years experience working in a medical office or clinical setting
- Ability to work with diverse communities with respect, sensitivity,



creativity, innovation, cultural understanding and non-judgement
- Excellent interpersonal skills and experience working with a team
- Well-developed communication skills, both written and verbal, including phone and email etiquette
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Comfort working with electronic medical records (EMRs)—experience with PS Suite is an asset
- Aptitude with new technologies for the purpose of scheduling (ie. Zoom, OceanMD)
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Understanding and commitment to ensuring patient confidentiality and discretion at all times

This is a permanent part-time position 2 days per week. It is not an entry level position. The successful candidate will be required to undergo a criminal background check. Pay: $19.50-$21.50 per hour
