Summary

As a Microbiology Technician at Actlabs, you will play a vital role in conducting microbiological analyses that support our diverse client base. This position is integral to our mission of delivering high-quality analysis and customized solutions across various sectors.

Responsibilities

This position will be responsible for performing testing services and operations based on specific analytical requirements that may include regional and international analysis. Special emphasis will be placed on cannabis samples, domestic soil, plant, fertilizer, manure, feed and related industry niche markets.

This position will be responsible for assigned testing and sample preparation for routine lab samples primarily in the microbiology department using traditional microbiological techniques, as well as molecular techniques such as PCR.

Other Responsibilities

- Grind, homogenize, sub sample received samples by mortar and pestle/electric grinder or another suitable grinding tool.
- Provide hands on bench top analysis for customer samples with emphasis on microbiology and molecular biology techniques.
- Work with media and buffers, antibiotics in selective media, molecular biological reagents for PCR.
- Work with micro-organisms classified under a containment level 2 laboratory.
- Establish and manage day to day tasks.
- Works in accordance with company policies/regulations including health and safety policies.

Requirements

- College diploma in microbiology, molecular biology, biotechnology,



or related field of study
- Undergraduate degree is preferred in microbiology, molecular biology, biotechnology, biochemistry, or related field of study
- Familiar with laboratory procedures, practices, and equipment
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment
- Customer focused and can work with minimal supervision
- High energy and will be willing to work extended hours when required.
- Excellent communication skills
- Critical Thinker
