Job Type: Full-Time

Salary: Minimum $19.60 per hour

We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and dependable Montessori Classroom Assistant to support our Toddler and Casa programs. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young children and wants to be part of a collaborative and supportive school community.

Position Summary The Montessori Classroom Assistant supports the Montessori classroom teacher in creating a safe, organized, and engaging learning environment for children in our Toddler and Casa classrooms. Reporting to the Supervisor, the Classroom Assistant helps ensure the smooth operation of the classroom while fostering children's independence, confidence, and overall well-being.

The ideal candidate is warm, patient, reliable, and enjoys working as part of a collaborative team. Flexibility to support either Toddler or Casa classrooms based on operational needs is essential.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist the Montessori classroom teacher with the daily operation of the Toddler or Casa classroom.
- Help prepare and maintain a clean, organized, safe, and welcoming learning environment.
- Support children's academic, social, emotional, and physical development through positive interactions and guidance.
- Assist children with daily routines,



including transitions, outdoor play, meal times, toileting (where appropriate), rest periods, and classroom activities.
- Encourage children's independence while providing age-appropriate support.
- Assist with the preparation and organization of Montessori materials and learning activities.
- Supervise children to ensure their health, safety, and well-being at all times.
- Build positive and respectful relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
- Work collaboratively with the Supervisor, Montessori classroom teachers, and fellow educators to provide high-quality care and programming.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development, school events, and educational outings as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the daily operation of the classroom and school.

QualificationsRequired
- Passion for working with young children.
- Positive attitude, reliability, and a solid work ethic.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Current Standard First Aid & CPR-C Certification (or willingness to obtain before employment).
- Current Vulnerable Sector Check (or willingness to obtain before employment).

Preferred
- Previous experience working with children in a childcare or educational setting.
- Montessori experience is considered a strong asset.
- Early Childhood Education studies or experience are considered an asset.




- Experience working with children between 18 months and 6 years of age.
