: Mushroom Harvesting Trainer
Position Summary The Mushroom Harvesting Trainer is responsible for delivering high-quality theoretical and hands-on training to new and existing harvesting employees. This role focuses on enhancing harvester performance, supporting underperforming employees, developing effective harvesting techniques, and ensuring all harvesting activities meet established company standards for quality, efficiency, food safety, and yield optimization. The Trainer works closely with Supervisors and Production teams to support continuous improvement and overall operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
1. Training & Development
- Deliver structured theoretical and practical training to all new mushroom harvesters in accordance with company training programs and operational requirements.
- Conduct hands-on demonstrations of proper harvesting techniques, including picking accuracy, speed, quality standards, and adherence to safety protocols.
- Provide refresher and skills-enhancement training to existing harvesters as required to maintain performance standards.
2. Performance Assessment & Support
- Monitor, evaluate, and assess new harvester performance during and following the training period.
- Document training progress and performance outcomes, providing clear and timely feedback to harvesters and Supervisors.
- Work directly with underperforming employees to identify skill gaps, provide targeted coaching, and support the implementation of performance improvement plans.
3. Collaboration & Yield Optimization
- Collaborate with Supervisors and Production teams to review harvesting results and identify opportunities to improve yield, quality, and picking accuracy.
- Support Supervisors in understanding key factors that influence harvesting efficiency and yield performance.
- Communicate best practices and promote consistency across all harvesting teams.
4. Program Review & Continuous Improvement
- Regularly review and update training programs to ensure alignment with production targets, operational methods, and industry best practices.
- Develop and maintain training materials, tools, and visual aids to support effective learning and skill development.
- Participate in the development and refinement of advanced harvesting techniques, equipment usage methods, and workflow improvements.
5. Compliance & Safety
- Ensure all training activities and harvesting practices comply with company policies, food safety standards, and occupational health and safety regulations.
- Actively promote a protected, clean, and efficient work environment at all times.
Requirements
- Proven experience in content development, instructional design, or teaching within agricultural or human resources settings
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly and confidently in public speaking scenarios
- Familiarity with HRIS platforms such as Workday or Salesforce for managing employee data and training records
- Experience with LMS tools like Adobe Captivate or SharePoint for developing online learning modules
- Knowledge of human resources management, employee relations, recruiting, and training & development best practices
- Classroom experience in delivering training sessions or workshops related to agriculture, safety, or technical skills
- Ability to research new harvesting techniques, industry standards, and incorporate them into training content effectively
