Care Coordinator (RCC) is responsible for ensuring the highest standard of care and service is provided on the Nursing Unit. As an experienced practitioner,
the Resident Care Coordinator acts in a leadership role to provide specialized clinical expertise, co-ordination of resident care, and support and teaching to the care team (including residents and residents' families) within a collaborative environment. The incumbent must be able to multitask and be physically able to respond quickly to emergent situations, as he/she is the immediate supervisor on the unit. The routine procedures are generally predetermined but critical thinking and independent judgment is an integral part of the position.
Human Resources Exemption: No Experience Minimum of three (3) years relevant long term care nursing experience Education Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) Licenses Basic Cardiac Life Support Certificate (BCLS) Other Education and Training Psychiatric Nursing diploma is acceptable Nursing diploma is acceptable Bachelor of Psychiatric Nursing is acceptable Competencies Leadership skills Knowledge and Abilities Ability to implement and support a collaborative working environment Knowledge of practical application of a broad range of clinical interventions Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to delegate appropriately.
