HVAC Operations Manager – Residential Services

Location: Ottawa, ON (On-site)

Compensation: Up to $100,000 base salary + perks

A well-established residential HVAC company serving the Ottawa region is seeking an experienced HVAC Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of its growing service business. This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for someone who understands residential HVAC operations and enjoys leading technicians, improving processes, and delivering outstanding customer service.

The successful candidate will oversee field operations while working closely with office staff to ensure service, installation, scheduling, and customer support teams operate efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the daily operations of the residential HVAC service and installation business
- Supervise, coach, and support field technicians, dispatch, and office personnel
- Ensure service calls and installations are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule
- Drive operational excellence through process improvements and performance management
- Monitor technician productivity, quality, customer satisfaction, and overall service performance
- Assist with workforce planning, recruiting, onboarding, and employee development
- Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) across operations
- Manage scheduling, workflow, and resource allocation to maximize efficiency




- Work closely with ownership to support business objectives and continuous improvement initiatives
- Monitor operational budgets and contribute to financial performance
- Maintain compliance with safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies
- Foster a positive, accountable, and team-oriented culture

Qualifications
- 3+ years of leadership experience within the residential HVAC industry
- Previous experience as an Operations Manager, Service Manager, Branch Manager, General Manager, or similar leadership role
- Strong knowledge of residential HVAC service and installation operations
- Experience leading field technicians and coordinating multiple operational functions
- Strong leadership, coaching, and employee development skills
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities
- Comfortable managing KPIs, workflow, scheduling, and operational performance
- Financial awareness with experience managing operational budgets is an asset
- Valid driver's license

Preferred Experience
- Residential HVAC contractor or home services industry experience
- Experience implementing operational improvements and service best practices
- Familiarity with HVAC field service software such as ServiceTitan, Housecall Pro, Successware, or similar platforms
