Position Overview

We are hiring for a optical experimentalist to assist with the design, assembly, and testing of novel quantum-enhanced LiDAR and QKD systems. This is a full-time, in-person position at a energetic startup, offering a highly hands-on role with strong opportunities for growth.

Key Responsibilities

- Optical system characterization
- Evaluation of spatial and depth resolution of LiDAR prototypes
- Testing in laboratory, simulated, and real-world conditions
- Measurement and analysis of data throughput
- Evaluation of data processing approaches for improved system performance
- Possible collection of test data for machine learning and machine vision projects




- Identification of sources of system performance limitations
- Alignment and assembly of optical systems
- Programming for scripted data collection and experimental automation

Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience with optical system design, assembly, or testing
- Master’s degree in a relevant field (or 5+ years optics experience)

Preferred Qualifications:
- Research experience
- Experience with single-photon or pulsed laser systems
- Familiarity with fiber optics
