Experienced Pastry Cooks

Compensation: $19-$22 an hour (based on experience) + weekly tip out + health advantages after 3 months of full time employment

We are currently looking to hire one highly motivated, experienced pastry cook with a strong work ethic to match for a full time position.

You will be responsible for baking our signature pita breads, koulouri and other pastry items on a daily basis for in store purchase, catering orders and other restaurants within Mamakas Food Group. Full training is provided. This is a high-volume production bakery environment.

Summary of responsibilities:

Reporting to the Pastry Manager, responsibilities and essential job requirements include but are not limited to:

- Follow recipes accurately and bake items to perfection
- Maintain proper rotation of product in all chillers to minimize wastage/spoilage
- Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of all work areas, utensils and equipment
- Follow kitchen policies, procedures and service standards
- Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage
- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:





- Previous cooking and/or baking experience required (1 -2 years minimum in a similar environment)
- Able to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
- Highly responsible and reliable
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work cohesively as part of a team and individually as required
- Ability to accurately follow recipes with no supervision

Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):

- Constant standing and walking throughout shift
- Complete repetitive tasks, such as rolling dough
- Frequent lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs
- Occasional kneeling, pushing and pulling
- Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
