Myoflex Physiotherapy Clinic is a busy multidisciplinary healthcare clinic dedicated to helping patients recover from injuries and improve their quality of life. Our team includes Physiotherapists, Massage Therapists, Acupuncturists, Chiropodists, and other healthcare professionals who work together to provide exceptional patient care.
We are currently looking for an experienced Physiotherapy Assistant (PTA) to join our growing team.
Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated, compassionate, and dependable Physiotherapy Assistant who has previous experience working in a physiotherapy clinic. The ideal candidate will be confident assisting patients with therapeutic exercises and operating physiotherapy equipment while maintaining a qualified and welcoming environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist Physiotherapists with patient treatment plans
- Supervise patients performing therapeutic exercises
- Set up and monitor physiotherapy treatment modalities
- Apply treatment modalities as directed by the Physiotherapist, including:
- TENS
- IFC (Interferential Current)
- Ultrasound
- Laser Therapy
- Shockwave Therapy
- Traction (if applicable)
- Other electrotherapy and rehabilitation equipment
- Prepare treatment rooms before and after appointments
- Clean and disinfect treatment areas and equipment
- Educate patients on home exercise programs as instructed by the Physiotherapist
- Monitor patient comfort and report any concerns to the treating Physiotherapist
- Maintain accurate treatment documentation when required
- Assist with general clinic operations and administrative tasks as needed
Qualifications Required
- Previous experience working as a Physiotherapy Assistant in a physiotherapy or rehabilitation clinic
- Experience operating physiotherapy treatment equipment, including TENS and other electrotherapy modalities
- Knowledge of therapeutic exercises and rehabilitation programs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Professional, compassionate, and patient-focused attitude
Preferred
- PTA diploma or certification
- Experience working with:
- WSIB patients
- Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) patients
- Extended Health Insurance patients
- CPR/First Aid certification (asset)
- Experience with exercise progression and patient education
