Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Placer Mining Foreman to lead and oversee all aspects of placer mining operations. This role is vital in ensuring safe, productive, and productive extraction processes in a fast-paced mining environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive heavy equipment knowledge, and a passion for mining operations.

As a Placer Mining Foreman, you will coordinate daily activities, supervise equipment operators, and ensure compliance with safety standards while maximizing operational efficiency.

Duties

- Supervise and coordinate all placer mining activities, including excavation, hauling, and processing of mineral deposits
- Oversee the operation of heavy equipment such as dozers, excavators, loaders, backhoes, graders, and horizontal drilling machinery to ensure optimal performance
- Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols and environmental regulations across all operations
- Provide technical guidance on mechanical issues and perform basic troubleshooting on equipment like Caterpillar machinery and other heavy-duty tools
- Schedule and manage equipment maintenance to minimize downtime and extend machinery lifespan
- Lead a team of operators by providing training, mentorship, and performance feedback to foster a productive work environment
- Collaborate with project managers to plan daily work schedules and meet production targets efficiently

Experience

- Proven experience in heavy equipment operation within a construction or mining setting,



with a focus on placer mining projects
- Strong knowledge of dozer operation, loader handling, backhoe use, grader operation, and horizontal drilling techniques
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot issues related to Caterpillar equipment and other heavy machinery
- Demonstrated leadership skills in supervising teams of equipment operators in demanding environments
- Familiarity with construction processes related to paving and earthmoving activities
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) or equivalent for transporting equipment and materials as needed
- Prior experience working in placer or mineral mining operations is highly desirable

This is a 2026 short term August / September prospecting position that is a prelude to a spring 2027 season position that can include a team member partnership with Gold profit sharing oppourtuniies, a crew of three to four team partners is required, with both salary and Gold share perecentage TBD. The location in Yukon is a remote FIFO operation 100 miles south of Dawson City. This is smaller High Grade oppourtunity. Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
