The Plant and Production Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Bolton, ON, responsible for overseeing daily plant operations and production activities. This role manages production schedules, supervises manufacturing staff, and ensures PET blow molding operations run safely, efficiently, and in alignment with quality standards. The Plant and Production Manager monitors equipment performance, coordinates maintenance, and implements process improvements to optimize throughput and minimize downtime.

The role also oversees inventory levels for raw materials and finished goods, collaborates with engineering and product development teams on new and custom packaging projects, and ensures compliance with safety, regulatory, and environmental requirements. Daily responsibilities include reporting on production metrics, guiding continuous improvement initiatives, and fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork on the production floor.

Key Responsibilties

Manage day-to-day manufacturing operations and production schedules.

Lead, mentor, and supervise production employees and shift supervisors.

Monitor production efficiency and implement continuous improvement initiatives.

Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance with maintenance personnel.

Minimize equipment downtime and improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).

Ensure production targets, quality standards,



and delivery deadlines are consistently met.

Maintain inventory of raw materials, finished goods, and production supplies.

Develop and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Ensure compliance with all workplace health and safety regulations.

Investigate production issues and implement corrective actions.

Prepare production reports, KPIs, and operational metrics for management.

Work closely with purchasing, logistics, quality, and sales departments to ensure smooth operations.

Assist with budgeting, cost control, and process optimization initiatives. Qualifications

Experience in production management, plant operations, or manufacturing leadership, preferably in plastics or packaging.

Knowledge of blow molding processes, PET materials, and cold-fill packaging applications.

Skills in planning, scheduling, and coordinating production activities to meet targets and deadlines.

Ability to lead and develop production teams, including performance management and training.

Understanding of quality control principles and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, 5S, Kaizen).

Competence in health and safety practices, regulatory compliance, and workplace hazard mitigation.

Solid analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with attention to detail.

Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams such as engineering, maintenance, and customer service.

Proficiency with production reporting tools, ERP or MRP systems, and basic data analysis.

Post-secondary education in engineering, manufacturing, industrial management, or a related field is an asset; equivalent experience will be considered.

Ability to work on-site in Bolton, ON, with flexibility to respond to operational needs and occasional off-hours issues.
