We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Poseur de céramique / Tile Setter to join our dynamic team in Montréal and surrounding areas on an on-call basis. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse construction projects, specializing in the installation of ceramic tiles and flooring. You will be responsible for executing precise tile installations that enhance the aesthetic and durability of residential or commercial spaces. Your expertise will contribute directly to creating beautiful, functional environments for our clients.
Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, leveling, and measuring to ensure proper tile adhesion and alignment
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications to execute projects accurately
- Cut, shape, and lay tiles using hand tools such as trowels, cutters, and saws with precision
- Install flooring materials including ceramic tiles, ensuring proper spacing and grouting techniques
- Apply caulking and sealants to joints and edges to prevent water infiltration and improve finish quality
- Collaborate with carpenters and other tradespeople to coordinate project timelines and ensure seamless integration of work
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools, disposing of debris, and adhering to safety protocols
Skills
- Proficiency with hand tools used in tile setting and construction work
- Previous construction experience with a focus on flooring installation or tile laying
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately
- Strong knowledge of carpentry principles relevant to tile installation projects
- Experience with caulking techniques for waterproofing and finishing touches
- Handyman experience is a plus, demonstrating versatility across various repair tasks
- Excellent attention to detail combined with strong problem-solving skills
