Duties
- Prepare fresh ingredients by washing, chopping, slicing, and portioning to meet recipe standards and kitchen needs
- Assist in cooking and assembling menu items according to established procedures
- Ensure all food handling practices adhere to safety and sanitation guidelines to maintain a clean and protected work environment
- Support the kitchen team during busy service times by organizing ingredients and maintaining station readiness
- Follow food safety protocols, including proper storage, labeling, and rotation of ingredients
- Help with inventory management by receiving deliveries, checking for quality, and storing supplies appropriately
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas, utensils, and equipment to promote efficiency and hygiene standards
Skills
- Experience in food preparation, cooking, or food service roles within a restaurant or food industry setting
- Knowledge of food handling safety practices and sanitation procedures
- Strong understanding of meal preparation techniques and kitchen operations
- Excellent serving skills with a friendly attitude towards team members and guests
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Familiarity with food industry standards for safety, cleanliness, and quality control
- Prior restaurant or kitchen experience is highly valued but not mandatory; eagerness to learn is essential
