Position Summary
Our client is currently recruiting for a Private Wealth Advisor & Financial Planner, who plays an integral role in delivering comprehensive wealth management solutions to individuals, families and business owners. Working closely with the Senior Private Wealth Advisor, this role combines advanced financial planning with client relationship management, investment advisory services and business development.
The successful candidate will independently manage designated client relationships while supporting more complex planning engagements led by the Senior Private Wealth Advisor. This position requires a highly collaborative qualified who is passionate about delivering exceptional client experiences and committed to helping clients achieve their long-term financial goals.
Impact of the Role The Private Wealth Advisor & Financial Planner enhances the firm's ability to deliver proactive, comprehensive and highly personalized wealth management services.
The role supports the Senior Private Wealth Advisor by managing designated client relationships, preparing and implementing financial plans, participating in investment advisory services and ensuring clients receive an exceptional and consistent planning experience.
The position also contributes to the continued growth of the practice by developing strong client relationships, identifying opportunities to expand existing relationships and supporting new business development initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Client Relationship Management
- Build trusted, long-term relationships through exceptional client service and proactive communication
- Serve as the primary advisor for designated client households and provide ongoing advice and support
- Participate in client meetings as either the lead or supporting advisor, depending on client needs and planning complexity
- Prepare meeting agendas, meeting summaries and follow-up action plans
- Respond promptly to client inquiries and coordinate client requests with internal team members
- Maintain complete, accurate and timely client documentation within the CRM
- Prepare, present and implement comprehensive financial plans utilizing the IP360 planning methodology
- Develop retirement, investment, tax, estate, insurance and cash-flow planning recommendations
- Monitor client financial plans and recommend updates when circumstances or objectives change
- Coordinate implementation of planning recommendations with accountants, lawyers, insurance professionals and other advisors
- Ensure all planning recommendations are documented and communicated effectively
- Participate in portfolio reviews and investment strategy discussions
- Prepare documentation supporting investment recommendations
- Assist with portfolio construction and asset allocation discussions
- Maintain a strong understanding of market conditions, investment products and portfolio strategies
- Complete Investment Policy Statements (IPS), Risk Tolerance Questionnaires, Annual Review documentation and related planning materials
- Participate in Investment Committee meetings and remain current on investment decisions affecting client portfolios
Business Development
- Support the continued growth of the practice by identifying opportunities within existing client relationships
- Participate in prospect meetings and assist with converting qualified opportunities into long-term client relationships
- Develop relationships with Centers of Influence, including accountants, lawyers and other professional partners
- Encourage referrals through exceptional client service and trusted relationships
- Represent the firm professionally within the community and industry
Client Administration & Compliance
- Ensure client files remain complete, organized and compliant with regulatory requirements
- Maintain disciplined CRM documentation and activity management
- Prepare regulatory and client documentation accurately and within established timelines
- Maintain confidentiality of client information
- Comply with all regulatory, compliance and internal policy requirements
- Maintain required licences, registrations and professional designations

Qualifications
Required
- Chartered Investment Manager (CIM) designation or successful completion of CFA Level I (minimum)
- Eligible for registration as an Associate Advising Representative (AAR) or Advising Representative (AR)
- Minimum three years of experience within wealth management, investment management or comprehensive financial planning
- Demonstrated experience preparing and presenting financial plans
- Strong understanding of investment products and wealth management strategies
Preferred
- Current registration as an Associate Advising Representative (AAR) or Advising Representative (AR)
- Life Licence Qualification Program (LLQP) licence
- Experience working with affluent, high-net-worth and business-owner clients
