The Opportunity We're building a recent shop management platform for automotive repair and service shops. The product is in its early stage with shops running their daily operations on it. Full details about the company and product are shared during the interview process.

About the Role You'll be the first dedicated product & sales hire, a founding-team generalist who owns everything about this product that isn't writing code. That means the sales pipeline and demos, the beta program, vendor and compliance operations, the feedback-to-feature pipeline, pricing strategy, and launch. You'll report directly to the COO, work daily with the development team, and talk to shop owners weekly.

This is a builder's role for someone who can sell in the morning and write a clean product spec in the afternoon.

What You'll Do Sales & pipeline. Build and work a pipeline of prospective shops through outbound outreach, industry communities, and referrals. Run demos and trials, manage the launch waitlist in a CRM you own, and close our first paying customers, converting beta shops at launch and landing net-new shops after. Beta program ownership. Recruit and onboard beta shops (we'll hand you a warm network to start).

Run a structured feedback pipeline: capture, triage, and close the loop so shops see their input ship. Adoption & objection research. Run structured research with shops in our network that have declined to try the product.

Understand the real objections, and turn what you learn into concrete changes to product, pricing, and sales strategy. Product execution. Run daily standups with the dev team. Translate shop feedback into clear specs and Jira tickets.

Maintain backlog priority with the COO, coordinate releases, and smoke-test builds before they reach customers. Vendor & compliance operations.

Own third-party relationships end to end including with vendors critical to help the business succeed.

Market & pricing intelligence. Know the shop management landscape. Get hands-on: run trials and structured teardowns of competitor suites, documenting their workflows, feature gaps, onboarding experience, and pricing structures.

Deliver a concrete pricing and packaging recommendation ahead of launch, grounded in what you've actually used. Content & enablement. Build the help docs, release notes, onboarding guides, demo environment, and sales collateral that make the product sellable and supportable.

What We're Looking For 3+ years across sales, product management, customer success, or automotive service management, the ideal profile mixes two of these.

Real familiarity with how repair or service shops operate. Credibility with shop owners matters more here than pedigree.

Demonstrated sales ability: you've run demos, handled objections, and closed business.

Excellent written communication. Much of this job is turning messy real-world feedback into coherent & clear tickets, specs, and vendor emails.

Comfortable coordinating API integrations and vendor relationships at a business level (no coding required).

Organized, self-directed, and effective in an early-stage environment without much process to lean on.

Bonus: hands-on experience with shop management software, a SaaS beta or launch, win/loss or customer research, CRM ownership, or Jira.

Compensation [$70,000–$80,000] base salary plus variable compensation tied to beta activation and launch conversion targets, transitioning to a commission plan on new sales post-launch.

How to Apply Send a short note and tell us two things: a deal you closed, and a product improvement you drove. This role is both.
