The Production Manager is responsible for leading the day-to-day manufacturing operations to ensure products are produced safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. This role drives operational performance by developing people, improving processes, and ensuring production plans are executed to meet customer demand.

Working collaboratively with Maintenance, Quality, Supply Chain, and Human Resources, the Production Manager champions continuous improvement while fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, innovation, and customer focus that reflects Dainty Foods' values.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & People

- Lead, coach, and develop Production Supervisors and production teams to build a high-performing, engaged workforce.
- Foster a positive culture of accountability, teamwork, safety, and continuous learning.
- Conduct performance reviews, provide regular coaching, and identify employee development opportunities.
- Support workforce planning and ensure appropriate staffing levels to meet production requirements.

Operations

- Oversee daily manufacturing operations to achieve production, quality, safety, and customer service objectives.
- Ensure production schedules are executed efficiently while meeting quality and food safety standards.
- Monitor production performance and implement corrective actions to address operational challenges.
- Coordinate with Supply Chain, Warehouse, Quality, and Maintenance to ensure resources are available to meet production demands.

Continuous Improvement

- Champion Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives to improve productivity, reduce waste, and optimize operational performance.
- Lead problem-solving activities and root cause analysis to improve efficiency, quality, and equipment reliability.

Safety & Quality





- Promote a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance with all health, safety, food safety, and environmental regulations.
- Partner with the Quality team to investigate issues and implement effective corrective actions.

Business Performance

- Monitor and report on key operational metrics including safety, quality, productivity, labour efficiency, waste, and schedule attainment.
- Support departmental budgeting, cost reduction initiatives, and strategic operational objectives.
- Communicate operational performance and priorities with the leadership team.

Qualifications

Education

- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field is preferred.

Experience

- Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in a food manufacturing or fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Experience leading supervisors and production teams.
- Experience in Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, and unionized environments is considered an asset.

Working Conditions This position is based in both an office and food manufacturing workplace with regular time spent on the production floor.

Pay: $110,000.00-$140,000.00 per year
