Company Description St Clair Mechanical Inc., founded in 2000, is a full-service, multi-discipline contractor providing mechanical, electrical, and civil solutions from its centrally located facilities in Brigden, ON. The company operates a main fabrication shop with over 25,000 square feet of enclosed, heated space and an additional 34,000 square feet for tool and material storage, plus 47 acres of secured laydown.

SCM specializes in above- and below-grade high-pressure piping fabrication and self-performed field installations supported by advanced welding stations, overhead cranes, and a fully equipped mobile fleet. Its full-service Electrical division delivers comprehensive electrical, instrumentation, and fiber optic services, including design, procurement, installation, QA/QC, and project management. Role Description The Project Controls role is a full time, on-site position located in Brigden, ON. This role is responsible for supporting project delivery through effective cost control, budgeting, forecasting, and schedule monitoring across mechanical, electrical, and civil projects.

Day-to-day tasks include tracking project costs, preparing and updating budgets, analyzing variances,



and providing accurate financial and progress reports to project managers and leadership. The role also involves maintaining project control systems, ensuring data accuracy, supporting change management processes, and contributing to risk and performance assessments. Collaboration with engineering, construction, procurement, and finance teams is essential to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.

Qualifications

- Demonstrated experience in project control and cost control for construction or industrial projects.
- Strong cost management and budgeting skills, including forecasting and variance analysis.
- Solid analytical skills with the ability to interpret project data and provide clear, actionable insights.
- Proficiency with project controls tools and software (e.g., Excel, ERP systems, scheduling tools such as MS Project or Primavera).
- Relevant post-secondary education in engineering, construction management, finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with multi-discipline project teams.
- Knowledge of industrial, mechanical, or heavy construction environments is an asset.
- Understanding of risk management, change control, and cost reporting best practices.
