Company Description St Clair Mechanical Inc., founded in 2000, is a full-service, multi-discipline mechanical, electrical, and civil contractor based in Brigden, ON. The company operates a primary fabrication shop with over 25,000 square feet of enclosed and heated space, plus additional facilities and secured laydown areas to support large-scale projects.

SCM specializes in high-pressure piping fabrication and self-performed field installations, supported by in-house Civil, Electrical, and Crane divisions. Its fleet of mobile welding rigs, trucks, excavators, hydro-vac units, and cranes up to 250-ton capacity enables comprehensive on-site services. Role Description The Quality Control Inspector is a full-time, on-site role based in Brigden, ON. This position is responsible for inspecting fabricated materials, piping systems, and installations to ensure compliance with company standards, client specifications, and applicable codes.

Day-to-day tasks include conducting visual and dimensional inspections, reviewing documentation and test reports, recording and tracking non-conformances, and verifying corrective actions.



The inspector collaborates closely with fabrication, welding, electrical, and project teams to maintain consistent quality across all phases of work. This role also supports continuous improvement initiatives, participates in safety and quality meetings, and helps uphold SCM’s commitment to safe, successful project delivery.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess skills in Quality Control and Inspection for fabricated components, piping systems, and installations.
- Candidates should possess skills in Quality Assurance and Quality Management for implementing standards, procedures, and continuous improvement practices.
- Candidates should possess solid Communication skills for clear reporting, documentation, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Relevant experience in industrial, mechanical, or construction environments, particularly piping or structural fabrication, is beneficial.
- Knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and inspection methods (e.g., welding quality, dimensional checks, NDT coordination) is an asset.
- Attention to detail, strong organizational abilities, and proficiency with basic computer and documentation tools are preferred.
- Post-secondary education or certification in quality, engineering technology, or a related field is an asset; equivalent experience will be considered.
- Must be able to weld map
