Company Description Titan1Studios, founded in 2016, is an award-winning cross-media content and technology studio focused on creating original IP across games and television. Current interactive projects include LOVE IS A ROGUELITE (or LIAR for Short), a turn-based tactical deck-builder set within a procedurally generated love story, CAT ASSASSIN starring DAVE BAUTISTA, from the writer of STRAY and TWELVE MINUTES, WELCOME: A COSY ESTUARY a Cozy Neighbourvania, and ARMADILLO AVALANCHE produced in partnership with BLUE ANT STUDIOS.

Role Description The Real-Time Lighting Artist role at Titan1Studios is a hybrid position based in Canada, with flexibility for some work from home combined with on-site collaboration. The artist will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing real-time lighting in game engines to support atmosphere, mood, and visual storytelling across the studio’s interactive and real-time animation projects. Day-to-day tasks include creating lighting setups for environments and characters, working closely with art, design, and engineering teams to ensure performance-friendly solutions, and iterating on lighting based on gameplay needs and artistic direction.

The role also involves troubleshooting lighting and shading issues, maintaining consistency with the project’s visual style,



and contributing to documentation and best practices. Participation in reviews, providing feedback, and maintaining clear communication with cross-functional teams is expected. Qualifications

Demonstrated expertise in real-time lighting for games or interactive media, including experience with at least one major game engine (Unity).

Strong understanding of lighting principles, colour theory, composition, and how they impact mood, readability, and performance in real-time environments.

Experience collaborating with environment art, character art, and technical teams to create cohesive and optimized lighting solutions.

Ability to diagnose and resolve lighting, shading, and post-processing issues, and to balance visual quality with performance constraints.

Proficiency with relevant tools and pipelines (e.g., engine lighting tools, profiling tools, version control systems).

Solid artistic eye and portfolio demonstrating real-time lighting work for games, VR/AR, or other interactive experiences.

Robust communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment across on-site and remote team members.

Self-directed, organized, and comfortable iterating based on feedback from art directors, creative leads,
