The Northwest Territories Health and Social Services Authority is seeking a Regional Director, Central – Child, Family and Community Wellness to provide executive leadership for child, family, and community wellness services across the Yellowknife region. This senior leadership role is responsible for the strategic direction, operational oversight, and continuous improvement of legislated child and family services, prevention programs, mental health supports, and community wellness initiatives serving Yellowknife, Łutselkʼe, and Fort Resolution. Working closely with Indigenous governments, community partners, and territorial leadership, you'll help ensure programs are culturally responsive, client- and family-centred, and aligned with legislation, clinical standards, and best practices.

About the Role

Reporting to the Executive Director of Child, Family and Community Wellness, you'll provide leadership to a multidisciplinary team that includes social workers, mental health professionals, family support staff, cultural and training leads, project managers, and administrative staff. You'll oversee the delivery of legislated child and family services while driving strategic planning, quality improvement, operational excellence, and collaborative partnerships that strengthen outcomes for children, youth, families, and communities across the region. Key Responsibilities





Provide strategic and operational leadership for Child, Family and Community Wellness programs

Oversee the delivery of legislated child protection, prevention, mental health, and family support services

Build and strengthen partnerships with Indigenous governments, community organizations, and stakeholders

Lead multidisciplinary teams while fostering a culture of quality, safety, and continuous improvement

Ensure compliance with legislation, accreditation standards, clinical policies, and delegated statutory responsibilities

Manage regional budgets, resources, operational planning, and program performance Qualifications Required

Typically, the above qualifications would be attained by:

A Bachelor's degree in Social Work

Eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience in child, family, or community wellness services

Three (3) years of experience managing people and resources

Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
