About Brightway

Brightway Montessori Academy is a newly opened childcare centre near Yonge & Eglinton—and we’re building something different.

We’ve created a calm, nurturing Montessori environment where children feel safe, secure, and at home. Our space is contemporary, natural, thoughtfully designed, and intentionally peaceful. No cookie-cutter daycare atmosphere. No loud plastic chaos. More “exhale” and less “overstimulated.”

The Role

We’re looking for a Registered Early Childhood Educator with hands-on experience working in a licensed infant room.

You understand that caring for infants requires more than warmth and affection. It requires close observation, consistency, patience, strong communication, and careful attention to each child’s individual feeding, sleeping, developmental, and emotional needs.

You will work closely with the Supervisor and other infant-room educators to create a calm, responsive environment where infants can build secure relationships, explore safely, and gradually develop confidence and independence.

What You’ll Do

- Provide responsive, nurturing care to infants between 6 and 18 months
- Build secure and trusting relationships with each child
- Follow individual feeding, sleeping, and care routines
- Support bottle feeding, meals, diapering, sleep, and transitions throughout the day
- Maintain accurate feeding, sleep, diapering, and daily-care records
- Observe and document each child’s development, interests, and emerging abilities
- Plan age-appropriate sensory, movement, language, and exploratory experiences




- Encourage early independence without rushing children beyond their developmental readiness
- Prepare and maintain a calm, organized, safe, and engaging infant environment
- Follow all sleep-supervision, sanitation, health, safety, and licensing requirements
- Communicate professionally and compassionately with families
- Work collaboratively with other educators and support consistent classroom routines
- Maintain required staff-to-child ratios and active supervision at all times

Who You Are You’re calm, attentive, patient, and emotionally responsive. You understand infant cues and know when to step in, when to slow down, and when to allow a child the space to explore.

You’re also

- A Registered Early Childhood Educator in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators
- Experienced working directly in a licensed infant classroom
- Knowledgeable about infant development, attachment, safe sleep, feeding, diapering, and responsive caregiving
- Comfortable caring for several infants with different routines and needs
- Able to remain organized and composed in a busy classroom
- Observant and attentive to subtle changes in an infant’s behaviour or well-being
- Warm and professional when communicating with families
- Reliable, collaborative, and willing to support the classroom team
- Interested in Montessori or respectful, child-led approaches to infant care

Previous Montessori infant experience is an asset but is not required. A genuine respect for children, openness to Montessori practices, and strong infant-room experience are essential. Pay: $21.00-$26.00 per hour
