RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Position Summary Department / Research Program: IDIGH We wish to recruit a Research Assistant to join the lab of Dr.

Brian

Ward to manage projects and perform experiments aligned with multiple projects funded by CIHR, Medicament Quebec and industrial partners focused on animal models of vaccination as well as clinical trials of vaccines. Incumbent will use preclinical models of vaccination and challenge and help to develop and perform humoral and cellular assays for vaccine clinical studies/trials. Biosecurity level 2 training is required.

The incumbent will assist in managing the lab with other senior research assistants and help to train incoming students. Incumbent will perform experiments, both in vivo and in vitro, perform data analysis and participate in manuscript writing.

General Duties

Design and perform experiments in mice and using human immune tissues (serum, peripheral blood mononuclear cells, tonsil organoids),

Design flow cytometry panels and perform flow cytometry analysis,

Immunology/Infectious diseases Work Experience: Experience in flow cytometry and animal handling is an important asset.

Required Skills Knowledge of French is required.

An advanced knowledge of oral and written English is required, as the position requires regular and complex contact with researchers or international students who are exclusively proficient in English. The position also requires complex writing or in-depth analysis of documents in English related to a research project.
