Job Opening: Resort Condo Building Maintenance & Grounds Technician

Location: Ocean Trails Resort (Strata VIS2118), Parksville, BC

Position: Part-time, Permanent

Overview:

Strata VIS2118 (Ocean Trails Resort) is seeking a dependable, experienced Maintenance & Grounds Technician to join our team.

This hands-on position is ideal for someone with a broad range of building maintenance skills who takes pride in maintaining a safe, attractive, and well-functioning resort property. As a member of our team, you will be involved in a variety of tasks that keep the resort in top condition. This position could also be tailored to include additional hours working on the grounds & exterior building maintenance.

The successful candidate will perform a variety of maintenance and repair tasks, including pool and spa maintenance, interior condominium repairs, building maintenance, and grounds upkeep.

The ideal candidate will have:

- Well-rounded experience in building maintenance, repairs, and grounds maintenance
- Experience with pool and spa operation, chemical testing, and maintenance Preference to candidates holding a valid Pool Operators level 1 certificate
- A valid Class 5 driver's license and reliable transportation
- The ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team




- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a dependable work ethic
- The ability to safely use hand and power tools and perform physically demanding work

Responsibilities

- Perform routine repairs and maintenance on condo fixtures and furnishings
- Perform routine interior and exterior building maintenance and repairs
- Test, balance, and maintain pool and spa water chemistry
- Maintain landscaped areas, including mowing, trimming, planting, and general grounds and gardens care
- Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively
- Inspect buildings, equipment, and grounds to identify maintenance needs
- Operate and maintain irrigation systems as required
- Complete maintenance work in accordance with safety standards and established procedures
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and report significant issues promptly
