Role Description The Restaurant Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the hotel’s food and beverage outlets, ensuring an exceptional guest dining experience. This full time, on-site role, based in Vancouver, BC, includes supervising front-of-house teams, managing staffing levels and schedules, and maintaining service standards in line with Fairmont brand expectations.
The Restaurant
Manager will monitor customer satisfaction, address guest feedback, and collaborate with culinary and bar teams to support menu execution and presentation. Additional responsibilities include training and coaching team members, supporting hiring decisions, monitoring inventory and costs, and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
The role also involves working closely with hotel leadership to achieve revenue targets, support promotions, and maintain a welcoming, inclusive environment for guests and colleagues.
Qualifications
- Strong customer-focused skills, including Customer Service and Customer Satisfaction, with a track record of delivering high-quality guest experiences.
- Food & Beverage expertise, including knowledge of restaurant operations, menu service, and beverage offerings within a hotel or hospitality setting.
- Experience with Hiring and team leadership, including staff training, performance management, and building engaged, diverse teams.
- Excellent Communication abilities, including clear verbal and written communication and effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Previous experience as a Restaurant Manager or supervisory role in a hotel, resort, or upscale dining environment.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and food handling regulations applicable to restaurant operations.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Post-secondary education in hospitality, tourism, business, or a related field is an asset.
