Bar Down is a popular casual restaurant, sports bar, and live music venue located at 832 Queen St, Kincardine, ON N2Z 2Y2. It features slow-cooked BBQ, pub classics, and weekly entertainment in the heart of downtown Kincardine.

We are seeking an energetic and dynamic Retail Store Manager to lead our retail team to success! In this pivotal role, you will oversee daily store operations, drive sales growth, and ensure exceptional customer service. Your leadership will inspire a motivated team, manage inventory and merchandising, and implement strategic initiatives to enhance store performance.

Duties

- Lead and supervise the retail sales team, fostering a positive and productive work setting through effective training, coaching, and employee orientation.
- Manage daily store operations including inventory control, stock replenishment, merchandising, and POS (Point of Sale) systems to ensure smooth transactions and optimal product presentation.
- Oversee hiring processes by interviewing candidates, recruiting new staff, and conducting onboarding sessions to build a high-performing team.
- Handle payroll processing, bookkeeping, cash handling, and budgeting tasks accurately to maintain financial integrity.
- Develop and implement sales strategies, pricing plans, marketing initiatives, and promotional activities to meet or exceed sales targets.
- Maintain excellent customer service standards by addressing customer inquiries promptly and resolving issues efficiently.
- Monitor operational procedures such as shift management, inventory management, purchasing decisions, and store safety protocols to ensure compliance with company policies.
- Utilize management skills to supervise staff schedules, conduct performance evaluations,



and support employee development initiatives.
- Ensure proper use of POS systems for sales transactions and inventory tracking while managing operational challenges proactively.
- Conduct regular store inspections for merchandising standards, cleanliness, safety compliance, and inventory accuracy.

Qualifications

- Proven experience in retail management with a strong background in supervising teams within the retail industry sales setting.
- Demonstrated skills in negotiation, employee orientation, interviewing techniques, recruiting strategies, and managerial communication.
- Familiarity with POS systems, inventory management software, bookkeeping practices, payroll processing, and cash handling procedures.
- Solid leadership qualities with the ability to motivate staff and foster teamwork through effective training & development programs.
- Excellent organizational skills with proficiency in time management and multitasking across various operational areas such as merchandising, stocking, pricing, marketing & sales management.
- Knowledge of retail math including basic math calculations related to sales figures, budgeting & pricing strategies.
- Multilingual or bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customer bases effectively.
- Previous experience in grocery stores or wireless sales environments is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Exceptional communication skills coupled with phone etiquette expertise to engage customers professionally both in person and over the phone.
