We are currently seeking Senior Robot Programmers with strong commissioning expertise and experience supporting complex, integrated robotic systems.

Position Overview The Senior Robot Programmer is responsible for the programming, commissioning, startup, and optimization of robotic automation systems ranging from single-robot cells to fully integrated, multi-robot production lines.

This role requires hands-on experience in full system commissioning, including debugging mechanical, electrical, and process interactions in real-world production environments. The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of complex manufacturing processes, and the ability to independently drive systems from installation through successful production handoff.

Key Responsibilities

- Program and configure robotic systems including Fanuc, ABB, and Yaskawa / Motoman platforms across industrial applications
- Lead and execute full system commissioning, including system bring-up, IO validation, process tuning, and production readiness
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex system-level issues involving robot logic, PLC interaction, tooling, and process variables




- Work across advanced applications such as spot welding, MIG welding, dispensing/sealing, material handling, and integrated vision systems
- Commission and optimize robot-integrated vision systems, ensuring accuracy and repeatability in production environments
- Support new builds in Cambridge, and support installations at customers facilities
- Support system startup at customer sites, including cycle time optimization, fault recovery, and production stabilization
- Perform and support pre-shipment validation and quality inspections to ensure systems meet internal and customer specifications
- Clearly communicate and document mechanical, electrical, and process-related issues, providing actionable feedback to engineering and build teams
- Generate and maintain documentation to support quality and compliance requirements
- Adhere to all internal and customer safety standards and safe work practices
- Required Experience & Technical Qualifications
- Extensive hands-on commissioning experience with industrial robotic systems in production environments
- Proven ability to work with complex, multi-robot systems and integrated automation lines
- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes such as welding, sealing, dispensing, or material handling,



including process tuning and optimization
- Experience troubleshooting across robot, PLC, tooling, and process layers
- Proficiency with major robot platforms including ABB, Fanuc, and Yaskawa / Motoman (additional experience with KUKA or Nachi considered an asset)
- Experience with robotic vision systems (e.g., Fanuc iRVision) preferred
- Experience working with major OEM standards (e.g., automotive specifications such as GRS) is an asset

Education

- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Automation, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering Technology, or related field
- Equivalent hands-on experience will be considered

Compensation

- Base Rate: $36.00 – $50.00 CAD/hour, plus applicable overtime
- Compensation aligned with experience and technical specialization
- Highly experienced industry specialists may be eligible for rates above $50.00 CAD/hour based on project requirements

Travel & Work Environment

- This will be a primarily in office position, with up to 20% travel almost exclusively within Canada
- Work performed in a mix of shop, field, and customer production environments
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and extended hours during commissioning and startup phases

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Pay: $36.00-$50.00 per hour
